PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES

Our ongoing commitment to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organization is one of our core cultural principles. As our workforce grows ever more diverse as the result of our inclusive hiring practices, it is important that we also support inclusion throughout the full employment cycle of the employee. To this aim, we are focused on providing equal opportunity for recognition and advancement for all by implementing the programs & initiatives below.

EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS
As part of our effort to make PubMatic an inclusive workforce, employees have created the Black, Latinx, AAPI, LGBTQ+, Women and Neurodiversity ERGs. These groups build community, share ideas and network.

JOY IN THE JOURNEY
Our informal mentoring program where female leaders share their stories in a personal way. All employees are welcomed to learn from the wisdom and experiences of senior employees.
D&I TRAINING
As we become a more diverse and inclusive workforce, our employees participated in Allyship and Unconscious Bias trainings to make PubMatic an affirming and welcoming environment.

Our internal program pairs employees to support the growth and development of our future leaders. Our female leaders also actively participate in She Runs It® Mentoring Program, the industry's largest.

The Black is Beautiful ERG is PubMatic's first ever employee resource group (ERG) for Black Employees. The group acts as a haven to discuss experiences and share meaningful connections regarding the impact of race relations globally.

Let’s Make Diversity and Inclusion a Cross-Industry Effort
In the last few years, we’ve seen a positive and much-needed change in society around equality and representation. Movements have arisen around the rights of specific groups but if the media industry wants to make real progress around diversity and inclusion, we need to review every layer of the advertising process and ensure that inclusion is part of the conversation at all organizations involved in delivering advertising and at every level of those organizations.

Nurturing Female Leadership at PubMatic
At PubMatic we continually look for opportunities to develop female talent and provide pathways to leadership. Our investment in and strategies for people development enable all our people to acquire new skills and advance within the organization. This year, we introduced a unique leadership course for mid-career women. The course introduces participants to the functional, behavioral and leadership skills required to move into the management level. It also addresses issues faced by women in the workplace. The women-only setup allows for greater candidness in a supportive environment, and a deepening of understanding of distinct leadership styles.

Joy in the Journey
PubMatic marked International Women’s Day 2021 by hosting “Joy in the Journey,” our in-house women’s leadership program. The event featured female leaders sharing how they have advanced in their careers, challenges they overcame, and lessons learned along the way.

As part of a commitment to employee wellbeing, PubMatic marked Mental Health Awareness Month this past May. This year, we offered a workshop to all U.S. employees that would allow them to discover the best ways to optimize their work-from-home setups to improve their health and comfort.

10 Ways Women Can Help Promote Diversity in Ad Tech
PubMatic has recently launched our diversity inclusion report which touched on three main areas: finding the best talent, empowerment through inclusion, and pay parity. Obviously, I am vested in all of the above. And as a ‘woman in ad tech,’ I was particularly interested in understanding how we at PubMatic faired with regards to female representation, and I was pleasantly surprised. Outside of our Indian offices (which are mostly engineers and have their own unique workforce dynamics, more of which you can read about in our report), 36% of our global workforce are female. That is set to grow, as 52% of all new hires in our non-Indian offices in 2016 were female (up from 43% in 2015).
