The PubMatic chatbot is an automated, conversational interface to PubMatic’s existing reporting and information services available through the PubMatic Products, as defined in our Properties Privacy Policy. Data collected and used through the chatbot is processed for the same purposes, and subject to the same practices, described in our Properties Privacy Policy.
Data We Collect and Record
When you use the chatbot, we collect and record the content of your chat messages, your account identifiers, and metadata such as timestamps. Chat sessions are recorded and stored by PubMatic for quality assurance, product improvement, customer support and compliance audits. Chat transcripts are retained by PubMatic for 12 months. This information is used to:
- Generate responses to your queries using PubMatic’s reporting and information systems;
- Improve chatbot performance and accuracy; and
- Maintain records for support and troubleshooting purposes.
AI Providers
To generate responses, your chat messages are processed by one or more third-party AI providers: OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), and Google (Gemini). Our agreements with these providers include the following protections:
- No model training. None of our AI providers use your chat data to train or improve their AI models.
- Limited retention. Chat data processed by these providers is either not retained or is held only for a short period (up to 30 days) for abuse-monitoring and safety purposes, after which it is deleted, unless retention is required by law.
- Confidentiality and ownership. Your chat data remains confidential and is not shared with other customers or used for any purpose other than providing the service.
Accuracy
The chatbot is designed to provide information and reporting via PubMatic’s internal reporting system, but may give responses that are biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading. We recommend that you use responses as a starting point and verify the information directly.
