Senior Manager, Content Marketing
About the Role:
At the center of the AI transformation in digital advertising is a belief that human storytelling builds trust in ways that automation cannot replicate. PubMatic is looking for someone who can take strategic insights and turn them into great content, across formats, across channels, on a sustainable basis, that moves the market and moves the business forward.
This is a role for someone who is equal parts outstanding writer and strategist. Someone who asks the right questions before hitting publish. You're the person who looks at what we know and asks: What story do our customers actually need to hear right now? Why does it matter to them? And where should they hear it? Then you write it brilliantly, get it into market, and measure whether it moved the needle.
What You'll Do:
You'll build and run PubMatic's content engine: translating research insights and strategic direction into content that reaches and resonate with audiences, strengthens sales conversations, resonates with sales, and builds our credibility in the market.
You'll sit within a lean, corporate marketing team, reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Marketing and partnering with communications, research, product marketing, creative, and sales.
Your job: take insights, product features, partnerships, GTM messaging, and deliver compelling content that audiences want to consume. You own the full cycle across planning, creating across formats, distributing, and measuring impact. You'll partner with research to coordinate how unique insights reach market. You'll work with sales to understand what helps them win. You'll collaborate across teams to ensure content lands with the right people at the right time.
Content Planning & Strategy: Work with the Senior Director of Corporate Marketing to understand narrative direction, then build your operating model: what content do we need? What’s the cadence? How do long-form and short-form reinforce each other? How do we coordinate with research?
Long-Form Content Creation: Partner with the Head of Research to take research insights and turn them into high-quality published content: whitepapers, reports, thought leadership pieces, industry guides. Write, edit, and shepherd content through publication. Work with executives and subject matter experts to develop and publish bylines and opinion pieces. Manage the publishing rhythm and coordinate how research gets packaged for different audiences.
Short-Form Content & Distribution: Develop and execute social media strategy that amplifies long-form content and captures real-time market moments. Create a sustainable flow of blog posts, email content, and newsletter material. Repurpose long-form insights into social series, sales assets, webinar material. Make sure content reaches the audiences who need it.
Performance & Optimization: Establish measurement frameworks upfront. Track engagement, reach, audience growth, and business impact. Use data to understand what's resonating: which topics, which formats, which channels? Iterate based on results. Partner with sales to understand how content is being used and where gaps exist. Translate content into compelling social media programming, including executive video content, partner-driven stories, event roundups, and campaign amplification.
Collaboration & Execution Work seamlessly across teams: research, product marketing, creative, sales, growth marketing. Be the person who knows what's coming, coordinates timing, and makes sure content lands well. Hit deadlines. Manage multiple workstreams. Communicate clearly about progress and blockers.
AI-Augmented Workflow Leverage AI tools as a core part of your workflow to increase output velocity, accelerate research, and iterate on drafts efficiently. Bring the editorial judgment to know when AI assists and when human voice, nuance, and credibility must lead
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in content marketing, content strategy, corporate communications, or related work in B2B tech, SaaS, or ideally ad tech, with evidence of building high impact content programs end-to-end
- A genuinely strong writer with demonstrated range: long-form research and reports, short-form social and email, executive voice, and web copy, and the ability to shift voice and format without losing quality
- Strategic thinking paired with execution: you ask "what story needs to exist" before deciding how to tell it, but you also know how to get it made and shipped
- Experience developing content that ties to business outcomes, whether that's driving customer engagement, enabling sales, or building thought leadership that moves the market
- Comfort with data and measurement: you establish success metrics before you create, track what lands, and pivot based on what's actually working
- Project management chops: you juggle multiple content workstreams, hit deadlines, coordinate across teams (research, sales, product, creative), and maintain quality at pace
- Hands-on approach to AI tools: you leverage AI for research, drafting, and optimization, but you know when human judgment and editorial voice must lead
- Familiarity with programmatic advertising, ad tech, or the digital media ecosystem — or a clear, genuine eagerness to develop deep fluency quickly by reading, learning, and asking the right questions
- Strong cross-functional collaboration: you work seamlessly with research teams, sales, product marketing, and creative without being territorial about your work
- A portfolio of writing samples: top candidates will share work demonstrating range across formats — long-form research, shorter-form content, and pieces that show strategic thinking, not just execution
- BA/BS in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or related discipline preferred, but demonstrated ability matters more than credentials
