About the Role:
The Associate Director, Finance will oversee all core financial, accounting, and compliance functions of the organization. The role includes responsibility for payroll management, statutory and tax audits, GST compliance and refunds, financial reporting, and secretarial and governance compliance. The position ensures financial discipline, accuracy, and compliance with statutory requirements while supporting strategic business and operational needs.
What You'll Do:
Payroll Management and Compliance
- Oversee monthly payroll verification and ensure data accuracy from input to output.
- Review and verify data for monthly payroll returns (PF, ESI, PT, Income Tax TDS, etc.).
- Manage payroll accounting, reconciliations, and related reporting.
- Supervise gratuity trust operations, employee benefits accounting, and actuarial valuations for gratuity and leave encashment.
Taxation and Regulatory Compliance
- Handle advance tax working, computation, and payment.
- Ensure timely filing of annual income tax return and completion of tax audit.
- Manage transfer pricing compliance, documentation, and related assessments.
- Attend to GST audits, tax assessments, and transfer pricing audits.
- Ensure correct deduction, deposit, accounting, and filing of TDS returns.
GST and Indirect Tax Management
- Manage end-to-end GST compliance, including monthly/quarterly GST returns, reconciliation, and refunds.
- Oversee GST-related receivables arising from vendor and publisher billings, ensuring utilization of credits toward agency liabilities and monitoring government refund claims.
- Handle complex transactions including domestic/local billing to agencies and DSPs.
- Handle DSP/Agency invoice verification from GST portal and ensure appropriate accounting.
- Maintain strong control over Input Tax Credit (ITC) accumulation and utilization.
Financial Reporting and Month-End Close
- Manage month-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Coordinate cost-plus billing and invoicing, ensuring alignment with transfer pricing and intercompany guidelines.
- Handle accounting of publisher invoices/statements and DSP/agency billing.
- Manage RSU and ESPP cross charge workings, accounting, and related payments.
Audits and Governance
- Lead statutory audit and ensure timely completion and submission.
- Attend and support internal audits and facilitate resolution of audit queries.
- Drive compliance with secretarial requirements including filing of annual return, forms for directors, and other ROC-related filings through external Company Secretary firms.
Financial Planning and Oversight
- Support strategic decision-making through cost analysis, financial insights, and reporting.
- Participate in CSR spend monitoring and ensure compliance with statutory CSR obligations.
We'd Love for You to Have:
- 10–15 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounting, and compliance roles, preferably with exposure to technology or service industries.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, Companies Act, and direct/indirect tax laws.
- Expertise in payroll and statutory compliances.
- Experience with GST, transfer pricing, and tax audits.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite) and advanced Excel.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
Qualification:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.
