We’re excited to announce that our CMO, Johanna Bauman, has been named one of the 2021 Working Mothers of the Year by the leading industry organization She Runs It. It’s no surprise since she’s a fantastic mom to whom we can also credit many successes at PubMatic.

She Runs It launched the award — now in its 17th year — to acknowledge women who are particularly savvy at juggling the demands of work and motherhood. Johanna joins the likes of executives at companies such as Doordash, TD Bank, and Hilton as an honoree. According to the organization, Working Mothers of the Year are chosen in recognition of  serving as strong role models and mentors to others and inspiring their coworkers, families, and communities with their talent and tenacity. Johanna was named a winner in the New to Motherhood category, for moms with children aged six years or younger, who have developed innovative approaches to managing the 24/7 demands of infants, toddlers, and of course, clients, and colleagues.

Johanna joined PubMatic in 2016 and redefined the corporate narrative and executed global marketing programs that strengthened the company’s brand. In her role as Chief Marketing Officer, Johanna is responsible for all aspects of corporate marketing strategy, product marketing, sales enablement, brand development, events, and communications worldwide.

Johanna is also an active member of She Runs It. She was recently featured as a “Badass Boss” panelist and serves in the She Runs It mentorship program. Johanna was also instrumental in building the relationship between the organizations, creating opportunities for women across the company to benefit from She Runs It programming.

Reflecting on the award, Johanna said: “The past year has been one of the most difficult, but also the most rewarding, of my personal and professional life. I’ve learned that, as moms, there’s nothing we can’t do, other than have it all. We have to prioritize and make choices. Sometimes they will be the wrong ones, and that is ok. But this year has proved to me that we can have a lot, probably more than we ever thought possible. I’m continuously inspired by the amazing women I’ve met through She Runs It, and am honored to be recognized by such an important organization.”

Johanna will be recognized at a virtual awards ceremony that will take place on February 25th.
