IT Support Engineer

Department: Facilities

About the Role:

We are looking for a technically sharp, people-first IT Support Engineer to join our NYC office. This is a critical on-site role — you will be the primary IT presence in New York, responsible for ensuring seamless day-to-day technology operations for all NYC-based employees.

What sets this role apart is our emphasis on AI-driven support and automation. You will not just resolve tickets — you will actively identify opportunities to eliminate them through smart tooling, scripting, and workflow automation. By doing so, you will amplify your own impact while releasing bandwidth for the broader global IT team to focus on strategic initiatives.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working directly with people at all levels of the business, and have a passion for using modern tools and AI to raise the bar on IT delivery — we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

End-User Support & Device Management

  • Provide hands-on technical support for MacOS and Windows devices across the NYC office.
  • Own the full device lifecycle: procurement, setup, deployment, asset tracking, and decommission.
  • Be the first point of escalation for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Identity & Access Management

  • Administer Okta as the organization's identity provider:
    • Provision and deprovision user accounts with accuracy and speed.
    • Configure and deploy SSO applications for new tools and integrations.
    • Build and maintain Okta Workflows to automate access lifecycle processes.

Collaboration Platforms

  • Administer and support Slack, including app integrations, user management, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Support on-premises Active Directory including user accounts, group policy, and directory hygiene.

Networking & Infrastructure

  • Maintain and troubleshoot networking infrastructure: Access Points, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Support Cisco Meraki networking and FortiGate firewall environments.
  • Assist with connectivity, VPN, and network security troubleshooting.

AV & Conference Room Technology

  • Manage Zoom and Zoom Rooms including licensing, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain meeting room AV hardware (Poly systems) and ensure rooms are always event-ready.
  • Lead setup and support for all-hands, client meetings, and executive sessions.

AI-Driven Support & Automation

  • Champion the use of AI tools across IT operations — identifying, testing, and deploying solutions that reduce manual workload.
  • Build automation scripts and workflows (PowerShell, Zsh, Python, or Okta Workflows) to streamline repetitive tasks such as onboarding, offboarding, and access reviews.
  • Collaborate with the global IT team to share automation wins and roll out scalable solutions across other offices.
  • Stay current with emerging AI and IT tooling trends, and proactively propose adoption where there is clear ROI.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain accurate IT asset records and configuration documentation.
  • Author and update knowledge base articles to enable self-service and reduce repeat tickets.
  • Contribute to IT process improvement by documenting workflows and runbooks.

Who You Are:

  • Proven experience providing IT support in a mixed MacOS and Windows environment.
  • Strong knowledge of device setup, deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on Okta administration experience, including SSO app setup and user account management.
  • Experience with JumpCloud or another MDM/remote management platform.
  • Microsoft 365 administration and user support (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Good working knowledge of on-premises Active Directory.
  • Slack administration and user support.
  • Experience with AV and conference room technology — Zoom Rooms highly desirable.
  • Genuine interest in AI tools and automation, with demonstrable examples of applying them to IT tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you can translate technical concepts for non-technical colleagues and build trust across all levels of the business.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki networking and FortiGate firewalls.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Zsh, or Python for IT automation.
  • Experience building Okta Workflows or similar no-code/low-code automation.
  • Prior experience in a global or multi-site organization.
