Associate Director of UX Design

About the Role:

PubMatic is seeking a hands-on Associate Director of UX Design. This role is an individual contributor and leader who will be working with product managers and business stakeholders, while  he charge to identify and set product strategy, design simple solutions for complex UX ecosystems, and inspire team members to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Most importantly, you will have a direct impact on the customer experience of publishers, advertisers, brand owners, and retailers alike.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, customers, and other stakeholders to introduce, iterate, and clarify requirements for new features 
  • Advocate for and contribute to UX research to help inform product strategy and roadmap while helping to scale PubMatic’s research repository
  • Elevate and maintain design quality through critiques, reviews, and our design system
  • Provide guidance to direct reports and mentor and support their career development 

We'd Love for You to Have:

  • Experience overseeing and leading the user experience of a product from conception until launch and beyond
  • At least 7+ years of experience in UX Design
  • Possess 2+ years of management experience
  • Portfolio of UX-focused work samples for complex web applications  
  • Ability and willingness to work with stakeholders across different time zones (EST, PST, India)
  • Deep understanding and experience in leading user-centered design methods and best practices - and you're always looking to improve on your process 
  • Experience in conducting user research and facilitating interviews with internal and external clients and prove this in your design thinking/solutions
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into easy user flows
  • Determine information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Create prototypes and wireframes
  • Experience designing and building out a design system
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as Figma, Supernova, Usertesting.com, and EnjoyHQ 

Leadership Experience:

  • Experience leading multiple product areas at once
  • Experience training and mentoring designers
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization
  • Values teamwork, and can give and solicit feedback from other teammates to continually raise the bar for quality
  • Self-motivated, a good communicator, and able to balance great design with meeting short deadlines
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas

Bonus Points: 

  • B2B and AdTech experience
  • Knowledge in using Pendo, Google analytics or similar behavioral analytics platforms
  • Experience integrating generative AI or machine learning features into product UX
  • Experience in UX Writing

Compensation Disclosure

In accordance with applicable law, the below salary range provided is PubMatic’s reasonable estimate of the total compensation for this role. New hires and current team members are typically compensated toward the middle of our pay range. The actual amount may vary, based on non-discriminatory factors such as location, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition to salary PubMatic also offers a bonus, restricted stock units, and a competitive benefits package.

$200,000$225,000 USD
