The PubMatic Hackathon is a two-day event where employees across locations and verticals collaborate, form teams, and create a unique software-based solution from scratch.
Encouraging talented and creative folks at PubMatic to create deeply diversified solutions that would positively impact our customers. This event symbolizes innovation, collaboration, creativity, learning, synergy, technical leadership, recognition & fun! Hoping to find not just the coolest ideas, but the greatest. Awards will recognize qualities like business acumen, technical ambition, thoughtful code, inspired design, and exceeding customer expectations.

How large is the impact of the solution on the business? How well aligned is it with current and future company strategy? How large is the opportunity and what is the ROI? How does it benefit the customer and PubMatic?

What innovative, unique and novel techniques and approaches are used to effectively solve the problem? Is the solution forward-looking or disruptive in nature? Has feasibility of the solution been demonstrated?

How much manual effort, time and money does the solution save? What is the ROI and impact?

Is this addressing a key customer pain point? How impactful is this concept for your primary target? Is there a business potential?

Usability + Design Excellence
How does your design solution impact user engagement and retention? (For ex: does it reduce time on page, number of clicks to complete task, etc.)? How simple and elegantly does your solution solve the problem? Is it clear to the customer where to go to accomplish the task? Can the customer accomplish the task independently and efficiently?

Emotional Response
Does the internal or external user look forward to completing a task in the application? How confident do they feel in getting what they need done? Is the experience seamless when moving between products, applications, and other touch points?

Best Prototype or Production Readiness
How well or complete does this project meet its own objectives? How feasible is the solution in the current environment? How quickly can this get pushed to production?

Is your solution new? How off-the-wall, innovative, creative, unique is the idea? Was there a novel approach applied to solve the problem?
RULES
Team Details
- This is a team-only event
- A team can comprise of two to five people
- You may create a team involving engineers, product managers, UX designers and GTM team members from different office locations
- One person can be in no more than two teams
Project Deliverables
- Project documentation, the presentation including ROI analysis, and all artifacts must be published on Confluence
- All code and scripts, if any, must be checked into Github
- It is recommended to create a video presentation for offline review and share a link to the recording
- Participants are encouraged not to pick-up near term roadmap items as projects
Judging & Presentations
- Each team will have 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for Q&A
- Judges will evaluate the project at the scheduled time
- Finalists will have 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for Q&A
- All evaluations will take place over zoom this year
