The PubMatic Hackathon is a two-day event where employees across locations and verticals collaborate, form teams, and create a unique technology-driven solution from scratch.
Encouraging talented and creative folks at PubMatic to create deeply diversified solutions that would positively impact our customers. This event symbolizes innovation, collaboration, creativity, learning, synergy, technical leadership, recognition & fun! Hoping to find not just the coolest ideas, but the greatest. Awards will recognize qualities like business acumen, technical ambition, thoughtful code, inspired design, and exceeding customer expectations.

Future of Ad Tech
Create or lead the market with innovative and disruptive solutions. Align with our focus areas of Addressability, Buyer Solutions, CTV, Online video, PMP, Mobile App, Header Bidding, Retail Media, Connect.
Monetization
Drive up revenue, platform spend, fill rates, eCPM.
Automation
Predict, detect, prevent issues using ML, reduce time and manual effort. Increase revenue per CS and salesperson.
Scale Up
Improve platform and infrastructure efficiency to support 10x scale at lower cost. Improve existing algorithms.

General & ML Track
The general and ML tracks are the two themes of the hackathon. All projects submitted for this track will be evaluated based on 4 criteria.

How does the project use cutting edge tools, technology and innovative techniques to solve complex problems in a scalable manner or open new opportunities?

Business Impact
How large is the impact of the solution on the business? How well aligned is it with current and future company strategy? How large is the opportunity and what is the ROI? How does it benefit the customer and PubMatic?

What innovative, unique and novel techniques and approaches are used to effectively solve the problem? Is the solution forward-looking or disruptive in nature? Has the feasibility of the solution been demonstrated?

How much manual effort, time and money does the solution save? What is the ROI and impact? Solution readiness to be deployed in production.
RULES
Team Details
- This is a team-only event
- A team can be comprised of two to five people. At least one team member should have worked at PubMatic for less than 3 years and at least one team member should have worked at PubMatic for more than 3 years.
- You may create a team involving engineers, product managers, UX designers and GTM team members from different office locations.
- There should be at least one team member with a minimum experience of three years at PubMatic ( i.e. joined after Jan 2020) and at least one member should have more than three years of experience at PubMatic (i.e. joined before December 2019)
- One person can be in no more than two teams.
Project Deliverables
- Project documentation, the presentation including ROI analysis, and all artifacts must be published on One Drive.
- All code and scripts, if any, must be checked into a private PubMatic GitHub repository only. No one should copy any code or data outside of PubMatic
- It is recommended to create a video recording for offline review and share a link to the same.
- Participants are encouraged not to pick 2022 product roadmap projects
Judging & Presentations
- Each team will have 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for Q&A.
- Judges will evaluate the project at the scheduled time.
- All evaluations will be held in the office/zoom for remote working employees.
ML Track
- No more than 2 Silver Badge or ML Team Members can be on the same team. Ideally just one ML team member per Hackathon team.
- Apply ML to solve business and technical problems relevant to PubMatic. ML must be a core part of the solution.
- Solution is expected to be as close to production ready as possible. Using actual PubMatic data sets is highly recommended, and synthetic data must be avoided as far as possible.
